It's helpful to understand the key differences between fixed (glued-on) and removable appliances. Fixed appliances, like traditional braces, are securely attached to your teeth and remain on until your treatment at Swenson Orthodontics is complete.
Removable appliances, such as Invisalign's aligner system, are worn for about 20-22 hours a day but can be easily taken out for eating, brushing, and flossing.
Beyond the obvious differences, Invisalign aligners are generally most effective for treating mild to moderate orthodontic issues. Fixed appliances are typically needed for more complex and comprehensive treatments, especially those involving jaw alignment, growth, and development.
